Compression Times:

Most people buy these and don't know how long to use them. If trying to flush the lymphatic system it can take must longer (around an hour) versus around 15 to 20 minutes for a pre warmup before a game. Athletes usually work on higher mmhg levels to increase circulation passively before their game. Most athletes use these for about 30 to 45 minutes after a game. Much longer is needed after a game than a warmup before.

Note: by afterwards I mean right afterward an intense game. The time that can be effective for doing it for 30 to 45 minutes can have to change to 1 to 1.5 hours instead of 30 to 45 minutes if the treatment is not done immediately after the game. Many people also use these after the gyms on their legs when they are sore and wait till they feel soreness. If they do it right away or even bring them to the gym do it immediately it can help recovery so much faster.

Compression times can also vary based on how much rest time there is between flushes and also how high or low the pressure is. Another factor is how long the compression cycle is. Some take under 1 minute and do it fast and others can take around 2 minutes for a much slower flush. I prefer the longer sessions when doing lymphatic drainage. Note: some machines will let you adjust their cycle time. Some go as low as 20 seconds for an entire leg flush and up to 240 seconds. A 4 minute session can be intense between the rest periods.

Note: most of the lymphatic practitioners I've talked to recommend for lymph drainage one hour twice a day but that depends on the person. If doing 2 hours in one session it might not give the liver and gall bladder enough time to emulsify all the waste and the session can be a big waste of time once the

Some people do 2 hour session and do a slow release but not at high enough mmhg to release too much waste too quickly. More is not better. Many people use these 3 to 4 times a day and they can't produce enough bile to keep up with the flow. If I was doing longer and more sessions per day a few pillows under my legs or even a slant board can be helpful. Also infusing the compression sleeves is another thing I do.
