Quality Grades

About 90% of the people buying compression machines are buying the budget brands. And these types suit most people just fine. I only recommend the higher end brands if it is needed. I know the differences in quality from just say Normatec or Recovery Boots. I know that the $500 dollar models are all about the same but some have slightly different constructions and the way they feel than the other budget brands.

The lower priced brands usually have a smaller compressor that has to work harder to give the same compression strength that the brands that use a more expensive motor. The smaller ones are almost always the loudest ones. I urge people who are not sure that want to experience a more comfortable grade versus a really cheap brand to buy both types and as long as each company will give a 30 day 100% money back guarantee then there is nothing to lose. There are people that buy both and decide the cheaper one is just fine. There are also people that use the cheap one for a few weeks and then change to a Recovery Boot or a Normatec and can't go back to the budget brand.

If looking for commercial quality then I would not use a budget brand. I use the BAO brand as my control because that is the most commercial of all the brands I tested. The Normatec has their patented sleeve and original technology compression that only the Normatec feels the way it feels. The Recovery Pump brand has a totally different feel than the Normatec brand. I will say that the Normatec is my pick when it comes for comfort. The way it feels is more comfortable than the BAO but the BAO is a little stronger in its compression and made more commercially but is also 6500 dollars which is out of most residential user's range.

As far as accuracy, when I turned up each machine to the max level, some of the cheaper machine didn't really feel as if they were really at 100mmhg. I know what 100mmhg feels like and I know what 110 on a Normatec feels like and 140 on a Bao. The reason I believe the different machines feel stronger or less power is because the pressure controls are not as accurate on the cheaper machines.

Note: on lower end compressors many people say on the budget brands that after a year the compression is no where near a strong as when they first bought it. I went to several places that sell compressors and they told me some of the reasons why these machines could lose their power over time.
If looking to keep it a long time I urge people to get a machine that has a high quality compressor. If using it temporarily and using it to treat something short term then I have no problem getting a budget brand.

It is very hard to know which compression machines are quality built and which are not built well without reviewing each brand. I will recommend a brand based on your answers on my compression quiz. Take my compression quiz here.
